Castleton clinic exclusively provides steroid joint injections for the treatment of joint pain, sports injuries and inflammatory conditions. We provide patient-centred care, with accessible and affordable appointments allowing for timely treatment of joint pain. Based in Templepatrick, we serve patients in Antrim, Ballyclare, Newtownabbey and greater Belfast. Situated just off the M2 we are accessible to patients from all areas of Northern Ireland.

Dr Morton is a GP with over 15 years of experience in delivering joint and soft tissue injections in primary care. He delivers careful assessment and targeted treatment with a patient-centred and straightforward approach. At Castleton clinic, we aim to provide high quality, efficient treatment in a calm and professional setting.

Please note patients registered at Templepatrick Surgery have access to joint injections through the NHS service and should not book appointments through this clinic.

Please use the online booking form on our website to choose the injection type and appointment time

Please dress in suitable attire which will allow examination and injection without having to undress.
Please bring along X-ray reports of the joint to be injected if available.

A referral letter from a GP or Physiotherapist is preferable but not essential.

Payment is made in full at time of booking, however if you cancel more than 24hrs before your appointment time you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel within 24hrs of your appointment you will receive a refund minus a £30 deposit.

If at your appointment it is decided that a steroid injection is not appropriate for you, you will receive a refund minus a £30 consultation fee.

Unfortunately we cannot take payment through medical insurance at present.

It is advisable to rest for 48hrs after your injection to maximise the benefit of treatment. Further information will be given at your appointment.

Medications such as aspirin, clopidogrel, apixaban, rivaroxaban, edoxaban and dabigatran do not need to be stopped, as studies have shown no significant bleeding risks during joint injection.
