Dr Morton is a GP with over 15 years of experience in delivering joint and soft tissue injections in primary care. At Castleton clinic, we aim to provide high quality, efficient treatment in a calm and professional setting.
Based in Templepatrick we treat patients from all over Northern Ireland.
We also provide a home visit service for patients who find it difficult to attend in person.

Booking information
*Home visits have a £50 deposit payable on booking. If injection is not required, deposit is retained as consultation fee.
**On booking you will receive a confirmation email with a digital consent form to complete and return prior to your appointment**
Please note patients registered at Templepatrick Surgery should not book through this service but can access injections through the GP surgery.

Please use the online booking form on our website to choose the injection type and appointment time

Please dress in suitable attire which will allow examination and injection without having to undress.
Please bring along X-ray reports of the joint to be injected if available.

A referral letter from a GP or Physiotherapist is preferable but not essential.

A deposit is required at time of booking, however if you cancel more than 24hrs before your appointment time you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel within 24hrs of your appointment, unfortunately your deposit will not be refunded.

If at your appointment it is decided that a steroid injection is not appropriate for you, your £30 deposit will be retained as a consultation fee (£50 for home visits), but no other fees will be payable.

It is advisable to rest for 48hrs after your injection to maximise the benefit of treatment. Further information will be given at your appointment.

Unfortunately we cannot take payment through medical insurance at present.

Medications such as aspirin, clopidogrel, apixaban, rivaroxaban, edoxaban and dabigatran do not need to be stopped, as studies have shown no significant bleeding risks during joint injection.
If you are taking warfarin, or two blood thinning medications please email Dr Morton at info@castletonclinic.com.

Home visits are offered in Antrim, Newtownabbey, Carrickfergus, Larne and greater Belfast however if you are outside of these areas please inquire via email if a home visit could be facilitated.
